  4.     You are looking at one of the most comprehensive aids available to the novice shortwave radio enthusiast.  The AHC DX Toolkit includes features for:
  5.  
  6.     >  Logging programs that you hear and want to record the time and date
  7.     > Keeping Logs of Station Addresses and records of QSL card responses.
  8.     > Automatic printing of envelopes with addresses of stations and your own
  9.        return address.
  10.     > Automatic printing of QSL request letters.  A good basic form letter is included, 
  11.        but you can easily modify it or use one of your own letters.
  12.     > You can print lists of Stations for Labels, Index cards, or to trade with other 
  13.        hobbyists.
  14.     > You can print program listings that you can refer to again and again when you
  15.        want to know what is on.

  17.     IMPORTANT NOTE: This program is Shareware.  Please feel free to try it out for a 
  18. few days, and if you don't like it, just erase it.  If you DO like it (and we at AHC hope that 
  19. you do) please become a registered user.  If you register this software, you will be entitled 
  20. to the full version 1.01 of the DX Toolkit  and a printed, bound, and much more indepth 
  21. instruction manual.  Note: This is a "Crippled" version of DX Toolkit.  There are many 
  22. SAVE/LOAD features that are limited in some way.  All the functions work, but in some 
  23. cases, they are limited to one filename. There are many hidden features that you may never 
  24. find if you don't register and get the manual and update disk!  You will also be helping us in 
  25. our continuing search for new and unique software for use in the Windows environment.

  41.     ABOUT - This tells a little about After Hours Computing and our goals.  Please read
  42.         this message and follow the instructions contained there.
  43.     EXIT-  Use this to exit the program.  Be sure to save all your work before ending.

  46. PROGRAM
  47.  
  48.     LISTING- The Program listing menu is used to keep track of individual radio showns, 
  49.             news programs, and whatever else you hear.  You can keep track of 
  50.             the show's name, frequency, date, UTC time, Local time and Signal 
  51.             Quality.
  52.         EDIT WINDOW-Click your mouse within this window to delect one of the 
  53.             programs listed in it.  When selected, you can either Delete the 
  54.             record, or Edit it.
  55.         DELETE-This will delete the currectly selected program line.
  56.         ADD- This will bring up a requestor box asking several questions about the 
  57.             program you are recording.  You can use the Continue or Cancel 
  58.             buttons at any time to get back to the Program list box.
  59.         EDIT- This will bring up the same requestor box used in the ADD command 
  60.             listed above, but it will contain the currently selected program, 
  61.             chosen from the program listing box.
  62.         LOAD-This loads the Program listing file from disk.  This effectively erases 
  63.             any changes you have made since the last SAVE command was 
  64.             used.  Note: The filenames for both the LOAD and SAVE commands 
  65.             are hard-coded in this demo version of AHC DX Toolbox.  In the 
  66.             version you will get when you register this softwarem you will be 
  67.             able to enter filenames to LOAD and SAVE, therby allowing you 
  68.             access to an unlimited number of lists.
  69.         SAVE- Always use this command before Exiting the program listing screen.  
  70.             If you don't save it, all your work will be lost.
  71.         CANCEL-Exit back to the main menu line without doing anything else.

  74.     PRINT LISTING-Prints a table listing all Shows and Programs listed in the database.  
  75.             This will have the same layout as the program list box.

  77. STATIONS

  79.     LIST STATIONS-This section of the program allows you to store a databse of Radio 
  80.             Stations.  You can enter Station Names, addresses, countries, 
  81.             whether or not they sent you a QSL, whether or not the reception is 
  82.             good, and any other kind of note you want to keep on the station.
  83.         EDIT WINDOW- Just click in the window and edit or add any text you want.  
  84.             There is no set format for the text within this box.  You can enter 
  85.             any kind of note that suits your needs
  86.         UP-Use the Up key to move to the next station in the program's database.  
  87.             When you get to the last record, the program automatically starts 
  88.             back at the beginning of the list.
  89.         DOWN-Use the Down key to move to the previous station in the program's 
  90.             database.  When you get to the first record, the program 
  91.             automatically starts back at the end of the list.
  92.         ADD-Brings up a requestor that looks like an envelope.  Just fill in the 
  93.             mailing address of the station.  You can actuall enter anything you 
  94.             want here, but an address is all that is really required.
  95.         DELETE-This will delete the currently selected entry.
  96.         LOAD-This loads the Station listing file from disk.  This effectively erases 
  97.             any changes you have made since the last SAVE command was 
  98.             used. Note: in this demo version of AHC DX Toolkit, the filename is 
  99.             hard-coded into the software and you cannot change it, thereby 
  100.             allowing only one database listing can be used, In the full version you 
  101.             will get when you register this product, you get the option to enter 
  102.             filenames, thereby allowing you access to any number of databases.
  103.         SAVE-This saves your database to disk.  Be Very sure to do this before 
  104.             exiting to the main menu.  If you don't save it, all your changes will 
  105.             be lost!  Note: in this demo version of AHC DX Toolkit, you can 
  106.             only save one list of stations in a database. In the full version you 
  107.             will get when you register this product, you get the option to enter 
  108.             filenames, thereby allowing you access to any number of databases.
  109.         PRINT QSL POSTCARD-This is one of the AHC DX Toolbox's most useful 
  110.             features.  Do you get tired of writing requests for QSL cards, then 
  111.             writing out the addresses and other info for each new station you 
  112.             pick up?  Well no more!  Now you can have the computer do all the 
  113.             work for you!
  114.             FORM LETTER EDIT WINDOW-This is a good basic letter that asks 
  115.             the station for a QSL confirmation.  Just fill in the blanks with the 
  116.             correct information and use the PRINT button to print it.  You do not 
  117.             have to enter your address or the address of the station.  If you have 
  118.             used the ENTER USER INFO command listed below, the computer 
  119.             will already know your return address, and the station currently 
  120.             selected will be used as the SEND TO address.
  121.             SAVE- This saves the letter in the edit window.  This may or may 
  122.             not be desired.  The letter in the window is saved on disk.  If you like 
  123.             the letter you have and want to save it, then fine; but the old letter 
  124.             will be destroyed.  In this demo version of AHC DX Toolbox, You 
  125.             can only save one letter at a time.  The real version allows multiple
  126.             letters to be saved and loaded.
  127.             CANCEL-Prints the envelope, but not the letter,
  128.             PRINT-Prints the envelope and the letter.
  129.         CANCEL-Exits back to the main menu without doing anything.  Be sure to 
  130.             SAVE if you have made any changes.

  132.     ENTER USER INFO-This screen keeps track of your name and return address.  You
  133.             really only need to enter this information once.  If you move, or want 
  134.             to print a QSL card ofr someone else, you can change the name and 
  135.             address here.
  136.         EDIT WINDOW-Just click in the window and make any changes you want.
  137.         SAVE-Click on SAVE to save your work to disk.  This information is kept 
  138.             permanently on file so you don't have to enter it everytime you run 
  139.             AHC DX Toolkit
  140.         CANCEL-Exits back to the main menu without saving your changes,

  142.     PRINT STATIONS-Prints a list of all stations in the database.  This can be used to 
  143.             print cards, or labels, or just to make a list for someone else's use.
